Overview:-

• After South Africa made 362, Sachin walked to the crease with India in a spot of bother at 28/2.
• He found an able ally in Gautam Gambhir with the pair adding 176 for the third wicket.
  Sachin reached his 51st Test century in style with a six off Morne Morkel.
• He was eventually eighth out for 146 off 314 balls with 17 fours and 2 sixes.
• India went on to grab a slender first innings lead of 2 runs but the match was drawn.
• It’s been two years and nine months since Sachin’s last ton but hopefully it is a merely a lull – a longish lull to be sure – before a storm of runs against the West Indies next month.
