Overview:-
- Maymand has extremely hot summers and intense cold winters. To adapt to these difficult conditions, villagers are changing houses according to the season.
- In the summer and early autumn, they live in homes with wooden roofs that help protect them from unbearable heat. When the temperatures drop vertically and the frozen chionades sweep the valley, the Maymand residents enter the underground caves. of the 400 cave-houses, the 90 remain intact and are comfortable. They contain up to seven rooms, each about 2 meters high and 20 square meters, although the size varies from cave to cave.
- Today’s residents have modernized caves to suit their lifestyle: they have electricity that allows cooling, and even have TVs. However, there is no running water and ventilation is minimal.
